Still stitching....

I thought I should post a little update! I have been continuing to stitch this third long border of the Vignette quilt (blocks 8 and 12). I can see the end in sight now! I daren't try and time how long these take! Last evening, I stitched all evening and really only completed about 3 of the larger flowers!!!! I haven't even started the centre blocks.

Stitching - finally - or trying anyway

I've been putting this off - piecing like a mad woman - but I finally had to bite the bullet. I'm not very fast, I should probably practiced on some scrap but NO - I jumped right in. It's been at least 20 years since I have done embroidery. I have discovered that I need STRONGER readers - my 2X drug-store glasses just aren't enough for me to see the loop in that chain stitch! Because of that, my chain isn't very good. I know I will improve, just need to practice. My french knots aren't very pretty - really? I thought I could at least pull them off the first round - practice! Fortunately, this project lets you do lots of it. Notice I stitched 2012? I WILL get this finished in 2012. There, I've said it... : )

At the Half Way point

Blocks 5 and 9 are now finished

I don't think that I will be rushing to start Blocks 8 and 12 as my right arm is feeling the strain of all that stitching so time for a break from this one for a bit.

If you would like to see a picture/collage of the complete Quilt at the half way mark visit my blog tomorrow (11/01) as I hope to have a pic there then (photobucket won't let me do what I want at the moment)

Enjoy your stitching,
hugs, Sharon

Block 4

Six done - 10 to go. I think I need a break. :)

Progressing...

I don't think I have shown you my Vignette progress for a while. I have been plodding along and have finished the side blocks, 5 and 9. I am now stitching the other side! So many lovely flowers!

Block Progress - On a Roll

I had a bit of free time whilst the kids were out so out came all those zip lock bags.

When I have a little more time tomorrow I will post more info on my blog

What I am pondering now though  is what, if anything will we be doing with all this?

Leftover fabric?

It just seems like a LOT of left over fabric from the required Bundle that the pattern called for, for the top.

Whilst I am here and before I head off to bed, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the lovely ladies who have emailed me with regards to this quilt and my progress. I hope that this post and the collage above will continue to inspire you and those who might be struggling to keep motivated with this project.

It will be a beautiful quilt when finished so all that stitching will be worth it :o)

Happy stitching,
hugs, Sharon
